Rediscovering Our Identity thru God’s Faithful Dealings with Us

Introducing Our New Sermon Series:

Over the next 3 months, from 2 Aug to 25 Oct, we will be embarking on another Sermon Series (for the 9.30am Service) entitled “Rediscovering Our Identity through Our Pilgrimage on Earth” based on the First Letter of the Apostle Peter to the early Christians who were exiled and scattered throughout Asia Minor. They were going through very difficult times – being insulted, slandered and persecuted for their faith in Christ.

But Peter wants them (and all of us who are living in increasingly perilous and uncertain times) to realize that we need not cower in shame or retreat in fear. As faithful followers of Jesus Christ, as elect exiles of the Almighty God, we can and must stand firm and strong by adopting a right perspective, a right attitude amidst our pains and perils, because what we are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for us (1 Pet 5:12).

And the right attitude for us to adopt is to live as “sojourners and exiles”, as “strangers in this world” (1 Pet 2:11), ever looking forward to the glorious and eternal city which God has designed and built for us in heaven.

One important takeaway from this study of 1 Peter is that as you journey through your life as strangers in this world, you can be assured that you not only have a God who has known and chosen you, but you also have a God who cares for you and who will be your Shepherd all the days of your life.

For the next three months (Aug to Oct), we will be exploring the timeless message of divine love, reconciliation and redemption. Please tune in and be blessed![/su_expand]
